Impact of Municipal Waste on the Climate Change and Environment

The current situation of the field of municipal solid waste management in Georgia was studied. Reviewed documents of municipal solid waste management adopted by the government of Georgia. Impact of solid waste on environmental objects was estimated. It was established that concentrations of various polluting ingredients (heavy metals, biogenic elements, microbiological parameters) determined from in soil and surface water very often exceed the maximum allowable concentrations. Based on the performed research of the literature it can be concluded that dumpsites play an important role of the climate change and ecosystems pollution process.
