Our goal is to study certain topological invariants of smooth, nonzero vector fields on spheres, by studying tangent spaces. In this work we cover preliminary material; namely, discussed are Spin and Pin groups, octonions, classifying spaces and transfers. The research is still ongoing and not in its final form.
